    Very Sad

Don't suppose many will know of this guy,or even the band!!
But a sadly underated "Dr.Feelgood" Bass player,by the name of Wilko Johnson passed away today
If you haven't heard of him, then look up "The Old Grey Whistle Test" clip of "Roxette"...
    CLASSIC Stuff... R.I.P. Wilko

As well as Wilko we've lost Nik Turner,ex-Hawkwind,and Dan McCafferty of Nazareth recently.

Amazing guitarist - but not a bass player! Wilko's unique technique involved playing rhythm and lead guitar - at the same time, on a single guitar!

Finger style was how he did it Paul, no plectrum! Saw him twice at Salisbury arts centre. One was a masterclass, showing his technique, and the other was on a bill with John Otway and The Hampsters. Fantastic gigs. His bass player was Norman Watt-Roy, ex Ian Dury (As was Wilco). Final encore was the whole lot coming out and playing a superb version of Rhythm Stick :thumb2:

Saw Feelgood at Birmingham Uni back in 1981 they were one of the best live bands for a small venue. Still remember that gig whenever I hear "Milk & Alcohol".

I saw Dr Feelgood back in the day, and saw him playing with the Blockheads, but I also saw the Wilko Johnson Band (with Norman W-R) up here in Kendal a few years back.

There's a great video of him explaining his technique - I'll try and find it.

[Edit] Turns out there's a few - searching for "Wilko Johnson technique" does the trick.
