If you all know better, then good on you, I've just done what, officially,I had to,and all of your various interpretations may be well founded in your cirmstances,I suspect though, that you've not actually cancelled your licence fee yet?!... I have and I'm rather happy about it :nerd:

let's not fall out over this. i pass no judgement nor opinion on your decision to not have a TV license, frankly it is none of my business, and as you say, we have to make decision which are the best for ourselves.

all I am saying is that the licencing authority's own website says that a license is not required to listen to the radio.

Doug - fortunately my wife doesn't like soaps - food programmes are a different matter!

Having rit the above and no offence to Peter, this thread is starting to get nearly as boring as reading about scale ears!

            Hi Guys

back to the main subject of the thread - I listened to the programme, and as far as i can remember it is sticking very close to the script of the film.

Listening to the main character, the pilot who should have died but didn't, I cannot help but visualise David Niven - but it's not his voice, which is a bit strange. it doesn't take long to get past that and it is a really good adaptation. I am looking forward to the next installment.

            Highly recommended.

            Peter

Yeah, I was in the shed Saturday afternoon and put it on. Really enjoyed it although I don't remember ever seeing the film....

I rate the film as one of my favorite of the films made during the war - 1944 I think. Well worth looking out for.

Listened to the second and final part - a very nice adaptation of the film.
