      "Dh Dragon Rapide"

      Code=04047

      Scale=!:72nd

      Price=£9.99TBA

      Release Date= June.

      _______COPYED FROM ANOTHER ARTICLE IVE WRITTEN ON FUTURE RELEASES:

      This years Airfix Releases:

      1:72nd Gloster Meteor III & VI Doodlebug - A reissue using the old moulds

      1:72nd BAC/Aerospatiale Concorde - A reissue of this large scale concord, hopefully it will actually fit together this time unlike the last issue which suffer heavily from poor moulding and warped parts.

      1:48th BAe Hawk 100- Another reissue with slightly different decals (S. African included) A nice scale kit of this famous trainer, it fits well but as per usal lacks cockpit detail, something thats essential in this scale, sadly there are no aftermarket parts for this that we know of!

      And also.....Some NEW kits:

      1:72nd Britten-Norman Islander (Spring2006)

      1:72nd BAC TSR.2 (Feb2006)

      1:72nd BAE Nimrod MR Mk. I, MR Mk 2/2P & R Mk I

      1:72nd DeHavilland Dragon Rapide (Summer2006)

      1:72nd Spitfire 70th Anniversary:S.6B, MkIa, Vc & XVIe (Spring2006)

      1:48th E.E. Canberra B.2, B.20 & B(I).6 (Winter2006)

      1:48th E.E. Canberra B(I).8 & B(I).2 (Winter2006)

      1:48th E.E. Canberra PR.9 (Winter2006)

      1:48th Martin B-57B, RB-57E & RB-57G (Winter2006)

      1:48th Spitfire 70th Anniversary; MkI, IXc & F.22/4 (Summer2006)

      1:48th V,S Spitfire Mk.IXc

      Most of these kits are totally new with the exceptions of the spitfire and B-57 which borrow parts from across the board. It should also be noted that the Dragon Rapide is an ex-Heller kit so nothing really new there bar the new boxart.

        Squiffy,that is quite an impressive listing,thanks for collating it together for us,it would be a good idea if you remind us as and when each new kit comes out,you know what these schedules are like especially when production problems get in the way.

          *** Yes,good point those silly little pots of paint,it would have been better to have at least included a tinlet of white to do the job properly but even that is a poor choice to do the job,my suggestion is to use Holts white primer first,followed with a coat of Holts Appliance white,the model then gleams as a full sized Concorde does,the decals are a nightmare best tackled in easy stages,any long decals can be soaked first in tepid water,then carefully slide a portion so that it just overlaps the backing paper,place your finger onto the end and pull the backing away patting down with a lint free cloth,attempt to apply them by soaking off and they merely curl around themselves,virtually impossible to do anything about,Airfix decals are just too thin especially for juniors to handle,needless to say a thin coat of Johnsons Klear/Future ensures that they stay in place,so far I have built three Airfix Concordes,one finished up in an air museum cabinet,the two others were sold to people who could not build for the price of the kit to help them out,so I am fed up building it in the present form with all the extra work filling etc !

            Sorry folks but i built the concorde and yes it needed a bit of filling, but apart from that it went together fine! I didnt have any warped parts or any other issues. Infact the only critic i can give is that it needed a better decal selection i.e prototype oo1/2 etc I would have loved 002 as i was at filton in 1969 to see its maiden flight and i also got to speak to Brian Trubshaw which was a amazing expeience

              model lifeboat

              Hi,

              This is my first message. Can someone please help me with my obsession!!! I am consumed with trying to find the airfix model severn. There was a newsflash on this site saying that it was in stock somewhere but I cant find it. Does anyone else find that the airfix site is useless at giving info? I am deputy coxswain of a real severn and must have a model.

              Cheers,

              Mark (katiehannan)
