    Review - ArtDot magnifying lamp.

I bought this lamp a while back, (after my cheaper battery operated magnifying lamp stopped working!)
This one was only a bit more expensive (£25 ish) and I think I got it from Amazon, can't remember now TBH.

It has a nice sturdy, heavy base, so does not need to be weighted down.
The lamp, shaft and base weighs 1.75kg.
NB: it does also come with a desk clamp if you wanted it to be permanently bolted down.

The long shaft is flexible, so the lamp light can be bent up, down, sideways, etc so you can get it into any position that suits you. Once bent it does stay where you put it. The length of the flexible shaft is 45cm or approx 18"

The mains lead is reasonably long, about 5ft, maybe 6ft? It is mains only, no option for batteries. It comes with its own mains adaptor.
The lamp itself has a x10 magnifying lens and is surrounded by 144 LED lights.
The lens diameter is 10.5cm or just over 4".
The lights brightness can be adjusted up or down. I think there are nine brightness levels.
The lights colour "temperature" can be changed, I think there are five colour options, eg: white, yellow, etc.

The on/off button (along with the other buttons) are located on top of the lamp and are a sort of "soft touch" buttons.
The other buttons are to increase brightness, decrease brightness and to adjust the light colour.

I have this on my model making desk and it has proved to be very useful, giving a decent amount of magnification when dealing with those very small parts or painting in fine details up close, etc.
After having this lamp for a while now I can highly recommend it as a useful addition to any hobby bench.
