Hi guys this is a review of Vallejo model air's ISAF colours.
The set
Ral1039 sandbeige
Ral1040 lehmbeige
Ral8031 sandbraun
Ral6040 helloliv
Ral7050 tarngrau
Ral6031 bronzegrun
Ral9021 teerschwarz
Ral8027 lederbraun
The paints come in 17ml bottles and information and description of the umtarnfarben colours.
I used revells 1/35 gtk boxer kit to test these paints on and the three colours I chose were sandbraun, sand beige and helloliv, in this precise order.
I have never used model air before so this was a nerve wracking moment as I was about to apply the sand beige. I was surprised when the paint Laid down as smooth as butter, my compressor was set to 20psi using my neo airbrush.
The paint was sprayed on in thin coats and because of the kits size I used about 2/3 of the bottle. The only color that I felt was thinner in consistency was the helloliv, although it required more coats I had to be careful and lowered thepsi to 10.
Until these paints were released you had to mix your own colours for German vehicles in Afghanistan. I highly recommend these paints as they lay down well and can be used straight from the bottle without thinning and look great on the kit.
