Here's another two sets of figures from this company. This time it is two of the sets from their AWI range, the Colonial Militia and Woodland Indians. The range also includes sets of both British and Continental Infantry.
You get the normal big pile of hard plastic in both sets although there are only 24 figures in the Woodland Indian set compared to 30 in the Colonial Militia.
The Colonial Militia box has three identical sprues containing the torsos with the usual good selection of heads, arms and weapons, and a sprue containing bases. Weapons include different types of rifle, swords and hatchets and there is a horn for one of the figures to blow. The heads are wearing a range of different hats including a round, soft hat, a tricorn and a woollen cap. The torsos also have three basic outfits of fringed jackets, redcoats and short jerkins.
The Woodland Indian box also has three identical sprues of torsos with arms, and weapons - including rifles, clubs, knives, bows and hatchets - with a surprising range of heads and hair/headdress styles. There are also some small pouches, powder horns and sheathed knives. All of the torsos have legs with leggings and all the warriors are bare chested. This means care will be needed during assembly to hide the arm/shoulder joints.
Detail is again rather good although there are better figures available if you're prepared to dig deeper into your pockets.
A really nice feature of both sets is a colour coded diagram of the sprues showing recommended combinations of torsos and arms. this makes the assembly of the figures much quicker although you do not have to follow their recommendations.
Altogether a nice combination of figures which could be used to re-create the forest battle in Last of the Mohicans - on my 'to do' list!
