    I dont think so

On the 20th I ordered my self a couple of bits especially to be used on the current build so grabbed the jar this morn shook it and shook it but the sediment stayed where it was even tried shaking it to no avail, stuck the badger mixer in it only to find these strange fibours lumps were what was in the bottom of the jar what a waist of money ,now I don't think any of this is model hobbies fault and have sent the pic and email to mr himenez will let you all know if I get a response ,strangely this happened to a couple of my other filters but I put it down to being opened a long time ago ,I've got old original mig filters that a ancient but as good as the day I bought them.Click image for larger version

I’ve Had a couple of AK filters do this. Others have remained absolutely fine. I think some pigments solidify in new type enamel paints. I have humbrols that are forty five odd years old and are still useable, but used to find that flesh colour went off really quickly once humbrol changed the formula. Basic the pigment solidified at the bottom of the tin after a couple of uses.

But supposedly new ,air tight ,definitely a manufacturing fault if it has gone off before you even open it ,will wait to see if I get a reply. I've had the same problem with wilder products as well but put that down to being opened a couple of years it seems apparently not.I hope it's not a case of we've got the world market sewn up so what's one more crazy swept under the carpet.

Thanks for the warning David. I will be interested to hear what they have to say for themselves

Still not had a reply yet if nothing will give them another nudge ,this was a new purchase not something from the cupboard although some of them have gone the same way (and not just mine it seems)I did say that I dont feel this is model hobbies problem so why send it back to them and askd for their thoughts on the problem I'd rather know why than blag a free one back from Spain.

Received a reply ,they thanked me for bringing this problem to their attention and were sorry for any inconvenience that I may have suffered, suggesting that I inform model hobbies that I had spoken with them via email and photo and they would refund my money and they would reimburse model hobbies. This I feel is a bit harsh on model hobbies so for the sake of a three fifty or what ever it cost I don't think I'll bother ,I did ask for their thoughts on the product wich talking to others seems a on going thing ,I didn't contact them looking for hand outs more to get some reassurance for us all that they knew and were on the case but I suppose if you own up your walking a fine line.

Think you did exactly the right thing David in bringing it to the attention of the manufacturer.
Don't think they would be willing to admit they had a problem due to the way people are so quick to take legal action. Hopefully we will see a " new formula filter " appearing at some point.

It's a strange one,I do feel they should have contracted Model Hobbies to explain and that they will be contacted by me regards the situation. I and other members here have suffered the same but I put it down being old open products this was straight off the shelf. I've original mig filters god knows how old that are still the same as when I bought them ,as a closing thought if a local model shop had still existed one would have shaken pot to look at colour and noticed the problem ,l dont blame the internet for their impending extinction more the fact that to keep up with the hobby the stock needed must be colossal, kits, paint products ect but that is a discussion for another time Dave
