So thats the pic thing sorted first(still struggling with the current situation).
I've had a posh airbrush for about five years now and its very good ,in fact a bloody pleasure to use ,but it only gets used as much as my sub thirty pound airbrushes their not as heavy not as well engineered but still do the same thing spray paint ,some of them getting on in age i thought I'd seek out a new one ,wanting one with a bigger needle .3 not wanting to lump out on a hundred plus pound jobbie and wishing to avoid the bottom end grabbed this for under sixty pounds ,nice weight well engineered a pleasure to handle I'm pretty sure i used it to spray the varnish on the recent ferdinand build with no probs but how about paint. So gave it a run out with some primer this morning ,mig one shot thinned fifty fifty with mr hobby aqueous thinner no probs this thing is smooth.

So airbrushes what are they all about pay what you want but a bit like golf clubs unless used properly it won't improve your game ,there are some nice little bits of kit out there for under thirty pounds and they work ,yes there is a difference between the top and bottom in build and quality but they both spray paint if and here's the rub air pressure and paint consistency (thinning) without getting that part right I dont care what brand you've got or what you paid for it ,it won't do what it says on the tin.
If your looking to move up from a cheaper one or starting out id recomend this brush as a good solid starting point like Bobs snips im only saying what I've found about this product incase you were wondering about one thats all.

Thats all folks so if your starting out or looking for something to chuck primer or varnish about rather than your best tool its worth considering the two kits primed I'll spray up with this AB and show the results. Dave

What's it like to clean? I have an Iwata Revolution CR and if i'm honest. It's horrible to clean. Sprays very nicely but the cleaning takes the pleasure out of it.

Ah well I know a lot of you blokes are quite for want of a better word anal about cleaning your airbrushes after use what can I say my posh one ive stripped down once in five years this one i cleaned as usual flushed it through with a bit of mr hobby tool cleaner a couple of times washed it about inside the cup with a paint brush flushed it out unscrewed back end of AB and removed undid the little gnarly nut that holds the needle and pulled it out cleaned it with a bit of kitchen roll with cleaner on and carefully inserted it back in the airbrush did it all back up again. I do finish usualy with a bit of clean water through it but not that bothered about that really as the cleaner evaporates anyway. Yeh I know mr slob but hey works for me and why keep taking these delicate things apart your just asking for trouble if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

Nice review David. Agree with your comments on air pressure and paint thinning as well.

Got to agree with your review. I've got their 0.4mm Max and love it. Nothing flash but does the job nicely. I'm going to get the 0.3 needle and nozzle for a something a bit smaller - 0.4mm, whilst great for primer and varnish especially does push a lot of paint through

Is that a water trap you have under it?

          Thanks for sharing.

I find cleaning ok. It has this sort of nozzle (LINK). Parts are reasonably priced too. For example, based on John's current prices, a new needle and nozzle cost £24. Last year, a new Iwata nozzle on my 0.2mm AB set me back £40 on it's own....:crying: :tired:

          HTH.

Nice to read that you've found something to suit. We never know when we sent off what it's going to be like . I bought a H&S evolution and good as they say it is I just didn't get on with it, bought a cheap Iwata and love it .

Thanks John, I didn't want it to go the way of poor bobs snips like him I just wanted to say look fellas ive bought one of these and if you were looking at or thinking about this is what I've found with this product. Like I said I think its a nice piece of kit well worth the asking price very smooth action layed down the one shot primer with no problems(lots dont seem to get on with this product). At the end of the day you pays your money and takes your chance ,they all spray paint .
