PM Model are a Turkish manufacturer - they've been around for quite a while - they seem to have sourced a lot of their moulds from Pioneer 2 ( A short lived British company ). They really should be classified as short run maker, the models are pretty simple.
The Yak-15 was a direct conversion of the Yak-3 WWII fighter, it had a Sovier built Jumo turbojet. Although designed as a fighter, it was mainly used for training, some 280 were built in 1947. It was one of the few jet powered taildraggers ( like the Supermarine Attacker ) - it would cause damage to runways, and had a very limited range, and was soon taken out of service.
This is one of the Pioneer 2 models, it was also boxed by Matchbox!

Sturdy end-opening box, with nice boxart.
Sprue Shots

Clean sprues no flash........................

Simple decals
Instructions - A4 glossy paper folded into 3 - nicely produced.

3 totally different colour finishes - Soviet aircraft didn't go in for much in the way of markings - Stars & numbers only.
A few detail shots

Wheel wells are shallow, but they've made the attempt!
Not much in the way of panel lines, but the Yak-3 didn't have many!
Another simple model - this does have an interior, although very basic & adding a pilot would hide this. It's only a very small model ( you can see why it had a limited range ). It looks like it would be ideal for a beginner, it's certainly out of the ordinary. Other 1/72 Yak-15 models are around, from Amodel & Eastern Express, but I haven't seen them.............
Availability - Yes. This was the cheapest retail model I could find in the UK, at £5.39 from SMS ( +p&p )!
