I've not had a Yamashita Model before - this was purchased from Japan by surface mail ( < 3 months ).

The Take was a 'Mutsu' Class small destroyer - launched in 1943 - it actually survived the war!

The back of the end opening box has the colour profile
Sprue shots......................

All the sprues are very cleanly moulded with some slide moulding. Bear in mind this is a small destroyer 140mm long X 11mm beam.
Instructions are clearly printed at a good size......................

Some detail shots

Hull plating vastly overscale - but it's there!

The baseplate/central bulkhead - a bit belts & braces!

Fine moulding - bottom planks on boat - sprue attachments OK, considering the size of the parts!

Swann-Morton 10A scalpel for size comparison
I'm pretty impressed with this model it makes the Tamiya/Fujimi/Aoshima/Pit Road offerings look very much last century. The other maker who produces similar detailed models is Flyhawk.
These models are not very common - I had to buy mine from Japan, where there are models that never seem to have exported to the West! Prices vary a lot, if you add in airmail, then they are pretty expensive. I trialled surface mail & the total cost was a few pennies over £11, but I had to wait nearly three months. It wasn't tracked ( really cheapest delivery! ), so you can't be sure it hasn't gone astray - which is why I did the trial with a cheap model. You'll probably be OK, but I'm going to stick with one of the mainstream retail outfits in Japan - Hobby Search.
