ICM 1/35 Renault AG 1910 London Taxi - InBox Review

The Renault AG was developed in 1907 as a basic robust vehicle. It had a 10hp twin-cylinder engine driving the rear axle through a 3-speed gearbox.They were widely used as a taxis in Paris ( Taxis of the Marne in 1914 ). A lot of Renault AG's were used as London Taxis.
ICM are Ukrainian makers of increasingly high quality models..........

Supplied in the usual ICM box-in-a-box - sturdy enough to defeat most handlers

Not ecstatic about the vinyl tyres!
Instructions, colour glossy A4 - it's only a simple model, and are very clear.

All quite crisp & clean - some of the ingates are a bit large & parts will need careful removal. There is an engine, but no means of showing it - no radiator or anything else under the bonnet, so no loss there! It is a simple model, of a very simple vehicle.
Shouldn't be a problem for a beginner modeller, there aren't that may parts!
ICM produce this as a French ' Taxi of the Marne ' - this has an awning for the driver, London cabbies were obviously hardier, and the London Taxi in 1/35 - they also produce the same in 1/24 - very similar in construction
Available - yes, around £20 ( + p&p) or about £5-6 more for a 1/24 version.
There aren't many modern models of vintage cars, offhand this is only one I can think of!

Looks to be a nice model typical of ICM products and it looks easy enough to set a bit of steering angle on the front axle for a bit of an "in use" look.

Very different Dave. Have heard very good things about the more recent ICM kits and have one of their newer 1/72 planes in the stash, which looks pretty good on the sprue just like this.

I believe these taxis were the first cars that W O Bentley was involved with after he finished his engineering apprenticeship. Must dig out my copy of his autobiography and check.

I have the ICM 1/48 Cessna O-2A in US Navy Service, 1/48 Polikarpov I-16 model 24 and the 1/35 Standard B Liberty series 2 WWI truck, all of them later ICM production in the stash if you'd be interested in reviews?
A fair few models in my stash are without boxes, instructions etc, more often than not, more than one model in a totally unrelated box! Sometimes I surprise myself what I find at the bottom of the pile ( No box, instructions, decals all point to being Ebay bargains! )
