Expo AB500 Spray Booth.

Last week I picked the AB500 Spray Booth from Emodels for a good price and a few members on this forum have asked about a small review.

Box art plain and simple.

A four page instruction manual.

The AB500 is tightly packaged in the box.

To assemble. Unclip the front panel and lift up, this becomes the roof of the Spray Booth.

The floor folds out of the case with sides attached.

The sides and roof clip together easierly. The turntable which is included can be postioned.

Spray booth completely assembled.

Showing the two filters. Easy to remove and replace.

Switching on the Spray Booth is a quiet 45db.

Once fitted in postion I hope to add two LED strip lights to the sides.



This AB500 doesnt come with extra hose and fitting kit. Depending where you buy the AB500 some come with the hose at no extra cost or it can be picked up for about £15.

Nice unit Tony. Now had mine for near a year. Found the transparent sides joints are a bit fragile but a bit of filler etc has put that right.

Bought a bathroom vent set from B & Q & vented the fan to the outside. I first retained the filter but this has now been removed & works much better without the pressure restriction of the filter.

I was a bit worried about the electrics with paint thinners etc & just direct an anglepoise which stands well outside the unit into the booth & this works well.

Not sure if they still supply it but they were doing an extension unit to increase the size to double. Does take up a lot of room !

Well worth the lolly as it really gets rid of the smells & if it does that then a good deal of anything harmful to us beings. I use the airbrush glass bottle for airbrush cleaning & you can see the fumes coming from its small filter being dragged into the extract fan. Also contains the paint spray from going everywere. Nice unit.

Constructing a 1/48 Wellington Vaughan. Got the wings in & fuselage but no way the whole thing. But I airbrush just in front of the unit & this still keeps in overspray & also extract the furmes.

1/48 Mosquito was OK. You may have got your Lysander.

You do need room to manouverve (spelling horrible) & I would say the majority of time I spray just in or in front of the unit. But it does the job for me.
