It certainly is John, when I saw it I jumped at the chance to get it straight away, having remembered the review on here - I didn't want to miss out.

The computer I am running it on is my old machine - specs as follows

    AMD Athlon XP1500 CPU

    1Gb Ram

NVIDIA Geforce mx 100/200 graphics card (64 Mb RAM)

As you can see - old spec by todays standards but it runs fine on there,

    as the screenshot shows.

I have managed some spectacular crashes too but all good fun !!

    Mark.

      Hi All,

Just to let you know, I am now having a lot of fun with this programme and am now flying around quite nicely doing circuits etc.

It is certainly worth tweaking the settings to something you are comfortable with - especially the windspeed and air pressure settings, it does make quite a difference when flying your chosen Helicopter. I haven't really tried the other settings yet.

One thing to watch is how far away you fly away, as just like real models, it gets harder to see the further away you get and if you go too far, the programme acts like you have flown out of radio range and your model will crash !!

For £20 - this has to be one of the best bits of Software I have bought this year, although I am finding the Chinook a bit tricky to fly !! More Practice needed with this one I think

The SA-365 Dauphin is my favourite on here.

      Regards........Mark.

        Just another update for you,

I am now greasing around the skies as if I had never been away from flying R/C Heli's - given the bad weather we have had over the last couple of summers I have not had much chance to fly but this programme certainly makes up for it. Hopefully the weather will be better next year and mine will be out airbourne again.

In the meantime I can sit in the comfort of a warm house practising my flying - no numb cold hands here !!

A cool feature I have noticed on this programme is the "Low fuel" warning which will come up at the bottom of the screen after a few minutes flying around - you then get about a minute to sort out your landing before the "Out of fuel" warning shows and your heli drops out of the sky. (You can still do auto-rotations if you have the height or are facing into the wind)

If you land successfully before the out of fuel warning comes up you will be treated to seeing the rotors wind down & stop when it does run out of fuel. It is then just a matter of hitting the return key to start all over again with a fresh tank of fuel.

Some screen shots of the SA-365 below for you - I love flying this one as the handling is superb - and yes the undercarriage does tuck away too.

Pic 1 is the landing approach & Pic 2 is the landing right at my feet !!

Pic 3 is another landing with the nosewheels just about to touch down

Pic 4 is the Rotors stopped having just run out of fuel & finally

Pic 5 is a flyby with the undercarriage up.

        Regards........Mark.

You mean that someone can actually fly the heli? I thought that it was a glitch:grinball2:

I have the older version and plan to train for a fw190 test flight next spring!

            Hi Jeff,

Yes I can actually fly the heli's and a lot of fun they are too, Love your comment though, that certainly made me laugh

Good luck with the FW-190 - get some screen shots up if you can.

            Regards.......Mark.

I have since discovered that this program will allow you to do inverted flight - given that it has a full F3D Helicopter as one of the models to choose from - it makes sense. I can now practice inverted flight without worrying about expensive crashes. (If I can do it low enough, I have a novel way of cutting the grass next year !! )

And another little pic for you, everyone seems to want one of these and this one is a dream to fly as it is so responsive.

              Regards.......Mark.
