How to send privte messages

Hello guys, am I being stupid... How do you send private messages ? Does this option unlock after hitting certain criteria ?

I can respond to conversations started by someone else by can't see a feature to start conversation.

If I click inbox at the top I don't get an option to 'start conversation'

Hi josh don't know if this is the right way but it's how I do it. Click on the persons avatar and a box comes up with their profile and stuff and in that box it says start a conversation. Iclick on that.

Another way is to click on the text "inbox" just above the search box in the top right corner of the window.

Mine doesn't work either I have asked the question before but I don't get the option to send messages anywhere.

Another one I just looked at if you click on inbox there is a bar that says start a conversation when you click on that it asks for the member you want to converse with you could try that way.
