I tried to download a photo to the site but was told it was too big. and approx 80Kb was the max.

My photos are all 800Kb or there abouts.

I either have to make them very small or loose all definition.

Can you increase the photo size in KB.

Ken, what format are your pics?

If they're bitmaps (.bmp) or .psp's they will be large. Load them into your paint package and save them back out as .jpeg (don't forget to use a different name if you want to keep your originals). You can also set the amount of compression. Experiment a bit and you''l soon get the hang of it.

Also resize to the max allowed on this board of 640x480, that'll save kb's too if they were bigger.

There must be good reasons why the 80k limit was set, but you never know. I thought it was a bit small too.

    Hope this helps. :goodluck:

EDIT: just noticed only jpeg and gif allowed :sorry: so all you can do is resize to the max allowed and then increase the compression 'till you get to 80k.

Hi Ken for most part 80kb is more than big enough, you could have quite a big .jpg file for that, like wowbagger said use jpg as you will get the best compression, the size limit is needed to conserve bandwidth if you have a 800k file which is almost 1meg it would use a lot of bandwidth every time someone viewed it, you can also look at this thread you can upload slightly bigger pictures, but please keep in mind the max size of 640x480
