And trust me the Critique Corner will be moderated! I am sure that if all read the rules, (feel free to hit the noted do dab in said thread so I know you have read them) everything will be good.

A lot of food for thought here, my personal opinion is just leave things as they are. Folks will respond as they see fit. I know myself I have been encouraged {for lack of a better word} to pay a bit more attention to historical accuracy but only because it made sense to me and not to satisfy any one else. I must be frank and say at times I've seen a few things that have made me cringe a bit but find it difficult to "critique" not "criticize" for I am human and a bit of a soft touch myself, plus some folks can be rather thinned skinned, but the old adage of "if you don't like it say nothing" also rubs me the wrong way. There is no solution or quick fix to this, human nature will run it's course which to me is what makes this forum interesting...............JimComment

Agree Jim and I thought very well expressed and put.
Respond as you feel fit.
I do believe that every one who publishes pictures of their models are brave. It took me a good while to do that.
What ever level I think that those who dare and publish should be encouraged. I certainly would not criticize as it may turn those who do publish from showing their work.
On the Great build button I do give on all the accolade as I just think they deserve that just for showing their work. On the practical side where does one say give a Great Build and not give one. Where is the division line. Well there is not a sliding scale it is all or nothing. But giving a Great Build is at least a way of saying I have viewed you model in detail and thank you.

Hi all I thought id add me two penny worth, I think there is always great value in any kind of reward for time and effort that has been put into a build, be it figures, vehicles planes or ships and it always gives great motivation for me when my work is appreciated. However I also believe that there are times when constructive criticism should be expressed, I have had many figures that have had some form of criticism over the years, some of it merited some not but it is always something I appreciate as well, if we display our work for others to see then we should expect both the accolade of a great piece and also the criticism of one that doesn't meet the standard expected of your own standards. on the planet figure forum for instance, they have a critique section where people can give an open an honest critique of the figure and people are warned not to post there unless they are open to that critique. I have posted on there many times and have greatly appreciated the feedback and comments that have been sent, and yes some of it is cutting but it has also allowed me to improve my work in such a way that I now have to turn down commission pieces because of demand.
So yes keep the great build gong but perhaps have a critique section for those that want constructive, open and honest feedbackComment
