Smileys in Conversations

I've noticed when I'm having a conversation with another user in the inbox part of the website that I can't use the smileys/emoticons/whatever, I don't know if this is for everyone, or if it has already been adressed and there is nothing that can be done, if so then no problem, just a heads up

In PC's. As far as I can see Blair you can only use the smilies in your own post that you are writing. You cannot give an accolade to the person who has written to you as you can on the forum.

Just wondered if that is the problem encountered.
