A question....cos i dont know where else to ask it

At the old place i seem to remember a thread where people mentioned useful bits and bobs they had found that wasnt model related but still had a use as a tool or whatever

What was it called?.....can we have it again please?

I found it useful and i found something today id like to share

This one springs to mind Paul:

:plane:hello all , thought id get something started that will hopefully be of some use to us all.im sure like me lots of you use weird or non modelling materials in our models, stuff that most people wouldnt expect, so if we make a thread listing this stuff ,hopefully everyone can add to it so it becomes a useful reference for

Maybe someone could advise me on the correct use of the emoticons?
When I want to indicate that I love something, is the head surrounded by hearts appropriate or the kissing emoji?
They both seem a little bit too "personal" to me, or maybe I'm just old fashioned.
All the same, which one is appropriate?
Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.

I used to go to drop down and there would be a 'mark forums read' option.....found it was the easiest way to find it but it seems to have gone.....have to go scrolling down to try and find it....any reason?

Is it just the 'you have X messages' at the top of the start screen that vanishes, or the messages in the message center Joe?

Just putting this out there But have you Joe and Chris, highlighted the INBOX bit on the left of the message center screen? Until you do that the page shows 'No messages'

That will be because the 4 posts will have been in the same thread, it is a bit annoying that when you go back they aren't all there but it just thinks you have read the whole thread.

You can go to the message centre and change the filter to show both

Videos would take up too much space, I upload them to YouTube then click on the film icon and paste the url in the box

John, on the previous site when you added a comment but someone commented 'before you' it gave a message like "someone commented since you read the last post, do you like to read it?"...

would it be possible with the new system to receive such a message again? It prevents typing something that might already have been posted. Thanks ?

John, you answered this by saying basically you do as you did before the changeover. I still can't see any post made before my last visit. What am I missing?

No, I can find mine OK. The old system had a default list of all posts going back years so you could scroll through and catch up with any you missed or wanted to look at again, with recent posts etc being options we could choose. Now it seems I'm limited to the options of Today; Posts since last visit and my stuff. If I want to have a look at what was posted last week, I can't unless someone has posted on that thread today or since my last visit. I could be missing something though ....
