smileys not working for me?

Last few times I've used smileys on this website, they don't seem to work, instead of the smiley appearing I juts get lots of question marks.
I do tend to use smileys a fair bit, so does anyone know what I need to change to activate them?
I've had a quick look through my profile but can't see anything obvious....
I'll put a couple of smileys at the end of this message and see if they come out...

I noticed that when I tried to use a smiley from my iPad ???????????????????????? they used to work, the ones in the drop down don’t work either , I will look in to it.

I find that if you use the smiley on your phones keypad you get ???? But if you use the sites smilies it works

Should have added I don't access the site via my phone, I tend to always use my laptop, (windoze). Cheers

I've just broke the site trying to get this to work, it's a database thing, I'm going away tomorrow so don't want to start messing today, I will look at it again when I get back

No, tbh I had forgot, I will have a look in to it

I’ve looked in to this and it means changing the database, I don’t want to do that just for smilies as it could ruin the whole database, the others at the bottom of the box work fine.
