Jusy a comment from a new member

Maybe because I am new but there are one heck of a lot of different sections and then threads within.

I am building an Airfix 1/48 Hurricane (new model( and was sure that somebody had a thread on their build of this but tried the search and had a look but could not find anything. probably I was wrong.

However a great site if somewhat confusing (I am now in my 70s which probably accounts for this lol)

Welcome to the forum, I think once you peruse the forums a bit you will find some areas to frequent. Also, use the recent posts to see what's popular at the moment.

Cheers guys. I have come from model railways where I have built more than 100 kits over the years from the German firms Faller and Kibri etc. Model aircraft and tanks etc from Airfix and others have very thin plastic and the fit is not as good. However I am enjoying coming back to this type of model building and will probably stick with Tamiya who appear to be slightly better than others. Having built two of their tanks which I enjoyed and did produce a good model I will have a go at the aircraft. Difficult getting used to the amount of painting that is required compared to Faller models but it is interesting and this forum has and will prove very useful.

            Thanks for the welcome.

Join the club Ben I am 77 in 6 weeks so qualify for confusion.

Depends on what you want Ben finished aircraft or aircraft under construction.

Go to aircraft. Then choose either Completed or Under construction.

Laurie. Nice to see another older model maker. I will join in here as often as I can mainly to get advice. I still have a large model railway and I am a member of that type of forum as well. It is amazing how the two hobbies are similar in many ways.

I will now get back to try to continue with my Airfix Hurricane although I have to say it is not a great build but I am determined to make a decent model at the end of the day.

Ps: I love the Faller kits, they are easy to build and the result is magnificent!

Thanks Roger.I will have a look at the Tamiya kit.

Polux although most Faller kits are easy to build because of the good fit they do a Fairground range many of which are difficult as they have motors and lighting etc. However that is for another forum. I am now trying to get the cockpit and fuselage halves together on my Hurricane which needs a bit of patience and I expect some plastic putty.

Meanwhile I am enjoying looking through the forum sections and picking up lots of advice.
