Given that these forums are a service which is free for me to use - Almost certainly taking up a fair amount of someone's time to maintain - let alone money, I'm just grateful it's here at all.

Marc, starting a poll isn't going to change the forum back, FYI I spend almost £100 per month just to host the forum, I have to pay that because of the bandwidth that is used, I have never and will never ask for contributions towards the running of the forum s.


I don't want to sound blunt but if you don't like it you have the option to go elsewhere, I changed the software because I caused a lot of database errors and I don't have time to fix them.


there should be no problems uploading anything, it just might not be where you are used to it being, but if you want to leave because you don't like the new software then feel free to find a forum that suits you.

I must say as an oldster and one not liking things changing about just when one finally feels comfortable with them, one must be flexible at times when need be. Of course there were legitimate reasons for the need to change things up and the man in charge did his duty as he saw fit. Buck up Marc and I'm sure he will see you through you're bit of rough water and help you to work out your problems.......Jim

mate, just be grateful about this forum, been on here for a number of years here, and found it to be great. 


John does a great job here and I really am grateful about how much he puts in here. don't mean to sound harsh, but if you want an improvement, just pm John and he could be able to sort it out

I agree whole heartedly! I just joined this site because a similar site I used before disappeared overnight. It does happen. These sites only exist because someone else pays the bills and does the work. It makes no sense to wear down their good will. You really wanna gripe cuz you ain't got emoticons?

Marc, as John said the change is a done deal & there's no going back.


At first I was the same as you; I really hated the change & couldn't get to grips with it. But we humans adapt to new things, it's part of who we are.


Now I've not noticed any image restrictions of compression other than what was in place before. I've actually found it much easier to upload directly from my phone than it was on the previous forum.


But I will say " don't leave the forum ". I enjoy seeing your stuff, as do many others. Work with the new format & hopefully you'll come to embrace it as I have.

and I don't think you sounded ungrateful, I too liked the old format. But John is doing what's best for the forum in my opinion.

I too, found it a little obstructive, but I have started using photobucket which realy does help
