What's New? - I've no idea as it no longer shows anything.....

Hi - anyone else having trouble with the operation of the What's new button at the top of the screen?

Previously I could just push that and get a sneaky quick overview of recent posts - I could then decide whether to explore a bit further

Now it only appears to work if logged in to the site

Additionally New Posts does not show new posts - seems to be stuck on last week and Latest Activity is empty

I'm not sure how it could work any other way really . If you aren't logged in it doesn't know who you are so how could it know "what's new" to you?

Just a thought, however your post appears to suggest that it used to work for you without being logged in, so I may be barking up the wrong tree ☺️

To be honest I never used the 'what's new tab', but the 'recent posts' under the tab 'forums' and that one luckily still works fine ^^

No problem here. I use it all the time. I cant imaging that it should work at all when not logged in.

It did work previously - showed a list of current posts in date order, you just couldn’t reply to anything unless logged in

It was dead handy for quickly seeing what was happening without having to bother logging in

Was the same with the recent posts as well - this now just shows a load of stuff from last Friday and two posts from this week

There was an iOS update recently so maybe that has affected something

So I have just spent ten minuets using the New Posts tab and seeing all the new posts.
Then commenting on some and using the recent post tab. All the comments I have made come up in the resent posts as they should.
Going back to the new posts tab I can see that there has come more New comments.
So I am unable to find any issue with it.

Can't you just tick the 'Stay logged in' or 'Remember me' box (not sure what it's called here, but you know what I mean) next time you log on? With a shortcut to the desktop, it's just one click to access everything on the home page.

I've just realised some of you guys may have access to more than one machine. I see no reason why you can't stay logged on in multiple machines - unless they're the ones at work and you don't want them to know how you spend your time! :smiling:

                      Hi Simon,
When not logged in I get nothing appear on the what's new page but once logged in normal service is resumed, like you I used to be able to see new posts without logging in.
                      regards Jim

When I’m not logged in the new posts button works, but it will not work correctly, as others have said, if your not logged in it has no way on knowing what is new, you probably miss a lot doing it that way.

                          Hi John,
Ever since I joined your site it worked without being logged in and was constantly updated each time someone posted so pretty sure I didn’t miss much

It is only in the last couple of days that it has stopped working

May just have to leave myself permanently logged in on all devices if that works - it will just say I am online when most of the time I won’t be

Email notification of watched posts also seems very hit and miss - may get the odd one even though there could have been half a dozen or so

Checked my preferences settings and all still switched on
