    the ability to edit

Where has the edit facility gone? I sometimes post and then notice that there is a spelling mistake or my post is not clear. I used to be able to edit the post and save the edited post. I don't seem to be able to do that now. Have I missed something?
    Thanks
    Jim

Now this is an edit :smiling: Is the ability to edit time limited?

It has been removed for now, you can still edit your thread up to 24 hours, although I've just checked that and it was 10 mins, I've changed it to 1440 mins, it was being abused and some people was deleting threads for no reason at all.

there should be no need to edit a post after 24 hours, if you edit it it won’t show in new posts.

            Thanks John
I feel that the ability to edit a post should be time limited. Editing posts can cause threads to lose continuity and make later posts not make sense.

Very true Jim, the reason that it was shut down for a while was due to it being miss-used by some members. I would like to point out that it it gets miss-used again, it will get shut down again as it is the only way we can prevent threads being trashed.
So to all that read this thread, take heed. Please do not spoil it for everyone else.

                Really?

                That's a tad sad.

I usually use it due to autocorrect being a total biff and readjusting my sentences into some alien language, or simply choosing some obscure word just for the hell of it!!

                Shame it's been misused/abused.

Question re. editing thread titles. I see in the sale/wanted/swap thread it says update the title when sold. Is the edit timing different in that sub forum, because I can't edit old post titles in other threads? I only ask as I'm considering posting some kits for sale.
A sales related question. I've read the guidance in that section, but have a large number of kits I may let go. Can I list as ships - various, please read etc? or will I have to post tens of threads, one for each?
Just asking for clarity, and appreciate any help. Many thanks.

You can ask a mod to change it to sold when needed, as for posting the kits, you can create one thread with them all in, just update it as they are sold

In the for sale/wanted section at least, you can edit your posts indefinitely (as far as I know), and if you can edit the first post, you can also edit the title of the thread, as I recall.
