    Uppercase title removal.

I have noticed that some of my model titles have been removed or replaced with 'Title removed fed up of changing them from all UPPERCASE'

Firstly, I apologise, it may have been mentioned somewhere and I haven't read it or, have just forgotten. I have always uppercased the title as this is the first visual cue that members see.

Secondly, obviously, it is a issue but, instead of a mod/admin replacing the title it would have been far easier to give me the heads up via PM and I could have gone back and changed them all.

    Hi Si

It wasn't me that did it but uppercase words (unless they are written that way) on the internet are considered as shouting. I'm sure the mod/admin who did it will PM you in due course

It was me, as Alan has said it’s classed as shouting, as you said you do it so members see it, but what makes your thread more important than anyone else’s? it makes it harder to read and screws the RSS feeds up we use.

The thread about it is here https://www.scale-models.co.uk/threa...-titles.38073/

Sorry but I can't see anything wrong in using Capitals in the course of giving a title to the build.

For example , is this now wrong ?

Sorry Alan you've lost me, the original is not in bold , but I can't see why.

No that’s perfect apart from the word scale, it’s when every word is in capitals like DZHONS KV2 TRUMPETER 1/35 SCALE

No probs John, I know the use of capitals is shouting but, for a title I assumed it was okay, just not capitals in the actual thread posts.

If it also screwing stuff then I shall change them and not do it future....note to self...chuffing remember ya silly old fart

Hi John, I bold the member names on my chat...will this pose a problem?

                    Cheers,

The only issue here is the use of ALL CAPS in the thread title. Nothing else.
One of the biggest problems here on the forum are indeed thread titles.
The success of any search is the ability to know what to search for.
This is the reason we have asked time and time again to keep the titles of your threads short and to the point.
Things like; I found this at the bottom of the stash and thought I would build it after all these years Has absolutely no meaning to anyone other than the person that posted it.
If however it was: Vintage Airfix Tiger I: 1/76 scale... It would 1) have meaning. 2) be easy to find in a search. 3) and maybe be more interesting and get people to look.

I think that most of us in here are above the age where 'click-bait' titles are the way. They are not. Quite the opposite, lets try to kick the habit and get back to 'normal' titles.

I have noticed several do that and have wondered why. If you wish to grab someone's attention put an @ and start to write the username and the member names will pop up on a dropdown thingy. chose the one you want and they will get a message.

Thanks but that just shows the members callsign...what about their name? On HPs its hard to figure names if they don't sign off with it.

Not sure what a HP is but usernames are easy to see; In the header from a quote, in the user details box at the side of every post for example.
When there are so many members with the same name it is harder to tag using a given name, unless the surname comes into play. Like on Face Book, And we are not them.
