    American Civil War

Any fellow members interested in this period of history?

I am currently constructing buildings for this period to suit 25mm scale.

Hi Ed, I used to have a pile of 15mm wargaming figures for the ACW, and always interested in ACW Ironclads.

Would love to see some pics...

I am into Ironclads, but dont have any yet....have acquired a rule book....still trying to determine best scale to use...so many...most ships i have seen for sale are very small..my eyes arent what they used to be...I have a few unpainted 15mm acw figures but my main army is 25mm Confederates

              Hi NB Forrest,

I currently live about eight miles from the farm Gen. Joseph Johnston and his men were camped at just before he surrendered to Gen. Sherman. The Whittaker family now own the property and I've seen some of the relics that have been picked up over the years.

As the story goes, some of Johnston's men knocked over a Federal Payroll wagon near Asheville a few days before the surrender, and knowing they'd be hung if Sherman found the loot, it was "hidden in a rocky outcropping". (all of the surrounding fields are tilled except for this one wooded & rocky acre out by itself!)

Anyhow, thought I'd pass that along.

              Take care,

              Frank
