    Help, quick!!

Done it again, Dad......still in bed with the flu and have been sorting my album out, so I thought!

I have logged on and hit the album tab only to find my photos are all over the 'front page'...on my computer at least!

It really looks a pose and very embarrassing. Can ANYONE let me know tute sweet how to remove them to somewhere were anyone can have a look if they want, without the whole world having to suffer them??

OR is this something that appears on my screen alone?

    Thanks,

    Ron

Don't worry Ron, I can't say what you see on your screen but when I look at your albums, they are fine. I just see your pictures so it's all good. Patrick

Patrick, when I hit the album tab, 2 columns appear. The left one says Recently updated albums, the right says spanner570 album. After I had finished with the photos both columns were identical.

As I see it the left hand one is for public domain if you like, whilst the right is personal and unique to your own screen.

So, does this mean when forumers hit the album tab they will see my images clogging up the 'public side.'? I'll be mortified if this is so as i don't want folks thinking I did it on purpose for some sort of gain.

Jeez, I hate to be computer thick with new stuff when it's ABC to most people and have to ask what must appear to you the most elementary of questions.

      Ron

Don't worry Ron A noone who knows you through the forum would think you were trying to blow your own trumpet in that way

        and B I haven't got a clue what's going on album wise.

and C It isn't ABC to me either

        Get well soon.

I'm not sure which page you are referring to, if you mean the main portal page I don't think there are any there, but the ones that do show up are chosen by me every few days as good posts, threads, pictures etc that I feel are worth putting on the main page, however if you are talking about the main forum page at the bottom there are 5 pics that are taken at random from everyone's albums every time the page loads.

Hello John, it's the Lt. Blue 'Albums' tab on the opening Scale models page. When I press it i get the albums page up and the left side has 'recently updated albums', the right 'spanner570 albums' The problem is spanner570 albums is fully duplicated on the left side of the page too....This can't be right surely?

It is, it looks like you have uploaded a lot of new ones and since doing that no one has updated theirs, when someone updates that page will change

Ron ,me old mucker , dont worry , it went like that when i uploaded all my images too. Ive got to sort all mine out though cause i mixed em all up ! im going to have to put them in lots of mini albums containing smaller numbers of related pics like you have done with yours.I really struggle with this album format though, the old gallery was a load easier for a computer idiot like me! Good to see your pics on here now though, pity the only way anyone can see them is by visiting your page, the gallery was available for all to see . We'll get there mate (eventually!) cheers tony

Have to say Ron, you are a master not only at modelling, diorama making and photography but also conceptual visualisation. Thos pictures are amazing. The way you have used the diorama base against natural backgrounds is awe inspiring. I cannot comment on the 'old gallery' as it has been the 'Albums' since I joined. The only reason you see them twice is that we all see the left side, the right side is for your own album, mine contains nothing so it is blank on the right, just your stunning pictures on the left. I know I will be studying them in even more detail when I start to build dio bases for my models. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for that Tony, I couldn't believe what had happened when I re-loaded the album page. The one good thing about it is that Steve(Stona) you and me are all finding the albums page very difficult and you are quite right, you could just wander in and out of everyone's gallery and handle our pickies with ease with the old Gallery.

John, if you read this, it is no way intended as a snipe at you, we all truly appreciate your hard work and effort in 'running' this new look forum, it's a gem. If it wasn't for Scale Models I would never have known what an ugly mush Tony had stuck on his neck!!

I do hope for your sake more than anyone this Gallery vs Album issue is resolved, then you can have a well deserved bit of peace!

Have a good New Year all.

                      Ron

Woa, steady on Graham. Remember I'm still ill in bed...or I was 'till I read these words. thank you so much, you're too kind. A far better tonic than having to suck a Fisherman's Freind every hour or so !!!!

At least my embarrassment at the pictures showing up again has eased by the fact that people are getting ideas from them. I can handle that!

PS What does conceptual visualisation mean !!!!!

This avalanche of praise is truly humbling, thank you all so much. What better way to fight a nasty dollop of 'boocus' than all your kind word about my models. Thanks again!

Yes Dograt, I like him too, bit of a cool dude I think. But I recon the Officer with the MP40 should have straightened him out, but looking at the C.O.s stance and tight trousers.........!!

                            Cheers all,

Good grief, not had a fisherman's friend for years... or anyone else's for that matter ;-)

What does conceptual visualisation mean !!!!!
To be able to make something like this, i assume you have an idea, visualise, what the finished result will be. I cannot believe that these scenes fall together by accident so you must visualise the concept.

I would be interested to know if you think of a scene then go out and get the kit and bits, or do you get a kit and let that inspire the scene?
