Cleaning my airbrush after using Johnsons Floor Wax (Klear)

I have had a search through the "Airbrush" section of the forum and I'm looking for some info regarding what liquid to use, to clean my airbrush after using Johnson's/Pledge Wax Floor cleaner (Klear).

I normally use Screen Wash etc to clean my AB after using my Vallejo paints etc. But I recently used the Floor Wax on my U-Boot model, through a cheapo AB that came with my compressor.

The AB seemed to be in proper working order whilst I was using the wax, but as It was my back up AB, I forgot to clean it out.

It seems now, that the wax has coated the inside of the AB. I went to use it over the weekend and it barely spat out anything.

I'm not trying to get rid of this hardened wax, but I would like to know what I should/could use to clean my other back up AB, once I have used the wax?

Will a normal AB cleaner fluid do, or would I need to use White Spirits or Cellulous thinners?

    Any help is appreciated.

I would imagine a total strip down a soak in airbrush cleaner a poke around with a dental brush should restore your brush to normal working order.

Normally, anything containing ammonia would work - Windex etc.

On dried-out Klear ... as John said, a full stripdown & clean is best. If it were me, I'd use cellulose thinners - that clears everything! However, if your AB isn't ok with something that hot, steer clear because it'll damage the seals.

Yeah, I was/am a bit wary of using cellulose thinners on my AB's.

It was/is only a cheapo AB that I had used, so may give it a full strip down anyway.

        Thanks

If it has Teflon seals, Cellulose thinner is ok. But don't use if they are rubber seals.

To soften the dried up Klear drop it in a little jar of....... Klear for a while as it dissolves its self. Then clean with anything that contains ammonia.
