    Busted my airbrush. Arggggghhhhhh!

Damn, just busted my airbrush. Was just doing a quick partial strip down, turned around and the blasted thing dropped out of the little holding cup on my compressor. Fell on to the tiled floor and the needle chuck where the knob screws on to clamp the needle tight snapped off. I've ordered a new part but so bloody angry with myself right now!

Thank you Steve! However I think I hate myself more. A moments silly carelessness. Everything was going so well, I was painting one of the doors on my Merc I'm building, trying some clear primer from Revell, squirted on some gloss white over that and was going to wait for it to dry before buffing and painting over with Ferrari gloss red. It was (is) looking good. Just wanted to make sure that everything was clean before squirting on the gloss red and clunk, ping, oh noes.

Never mind, I shall do a ton of prep work over the next few days.

Does this sort of thing occur within your cooking processes Moni ?

Have a good look around, was there a cat or dog nearby to blame - kids, always a good excuse.

                          My word, so annoying!

I purchased a spray booth from John (Scale Model Shop) last Thursday and couldn't wait to try it, it turned up Monday, excellent service as usual!

Went to give my airbrush a thorough clean on Tuesday (and I've had it for about 6 months) and bent the needle!

What a pain, thanks to John though, I ordered a new needle and it turned up today just in time for the weekend.

John at Scale Model Shop.... You are a legend mate!

Yer, it's an Iwata Revolution CR, must admit I had wondered about buying an Iwata BR as well because as I understand it as a relative beginner the CR is a good general purpose air brush but the BR is better suited to things like free hand camo as it has a narrower spray pattern. At least I'd have an airbrush to use!

I think Del that your airbrush came with a standard .5 needle/nozzle. Bit large, in my view, for model making.

Did you know that you can get the optional of a .3 needle nozzle ? I would think that this will give a better balance. Not sure what scale you are working at or what paint you are using.

My general purpose brush is a .35 which I have found perfect for Vallejo Model Air. I would think the .3 would give satisfaction for ordinary and effect work..
