over spray with my H&S infinity

Hi, after using a iwata cheepo airbrush for couple of years i was getting peed of with overspray now and again so decided to buy a H&S infinity tried it today for first time as i build 1 72 scale i need to paint fine lines and camo, but the over spray is worse than my iwata .
Any ideas as to what is causing it .
    Thanks.

Not an expert, but it could be too much air pressure causing the paint stream to fracture as it passes through the nozzle. Try with a lower pressure?
    Cheers

        I didn’t know such a thing existed :smiling2:

I use Iwata HP-B Plus, HP-C Plus and the H&S Infinity CR Plus and don’t have issues with overspray.
I agree with Tim, first try reducing your airpresssure and maybe move the airbrush a little closer to the model?

          Hi Barry,
As an iwata owner, I’m interested to know what is overspray? Never heard of it before!

I googled what overspray was... makes sense now.
I can honestly say in over 8yrs I’ve not encountered that issue with my Iwata revolution BR....yet:upside:
My guess would be paint thickness or air pressure as already suggested?

Barry, reduce your air pressure. I normally spray between 1 and 1.5 bar with paint thinned 50/50.

Hi Barryt, I have a H&S Evolution and quite happy with it, but the Infinity is even cooler. Before we try to find a solution.
Which paint brand do you use? And which thinner do you use? And at what pressure? Which nozzle diametre do you use?

Many possibilities and solutions to it ^^

                  Cheers

                      Hi Barry
If that is two bar you are up around thirty psi. I would reduce that by about half.....perhaps a little less depending upon your paint mix. Try 50/50 paint to thinners and 1 bar. Practice on photocopy paper rather than a model....
                      Cheers

I use an iwata HP CH Hi Line and have never had problems like that. However, I used to have an infinity and did find it to have similar described issues like that before. Try spraying at 18 psi btw, that might solve it. Alternatively, strip down the airbrush and lube it, then try again

Just a question, what was the ‘cheepo’? I have used extreme low end Iwatas and their flagship models and have found them to work brilliantly for their prices

The neo is a really nice piece of kit for the money, as long as you keep the psi to 18 you should be fine using that as well
