Have to agree now i've tried my newly purchased Iwata CR, it's a great choice, I've not tried other 'quality' brands so can't compare directly.

I will say, so far, the control on the CR is so smooth and manageable i really don't see a need at present for a 0.3mm needle and nozzle set, I would be happy to freehand camo on a 72nd scale aircraft with the 0.5mm standard setup, as a test i wrote on a scrap of paper, i'll post a pic up so you can see and bear in mind i'm no airbrush artist.

If you go this route, i'd recommend you get the CR as is, try it and if you feel a smaller nozzle will benefit you, then buy the set, the one thing that i find a little annoying is that you have to get a nozzle fan cap as well as the nozzle cap, nozzle and needle, this apparently is because the thread size differs? (correct me if i'm wrong).

I will say also, though the CR will now become my primary brush i'll probably continue to use my spraymaster and certainly my £12 chinese cheapy that came with the compressor, i've sprayed Acrylics, Enamels and Lacquers through it and it's been brilliant.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I've done the deed, CR plus the 0.3 bits all from John. I look forward to having a bash with it. This weekend I'll be testing out the current set up and practicing with the new gear

Nice bit of improvisation there! The CR is great - if I can lay down a decent paint job with it then it must be good!
