I used to hear my compressor fire up every few hours to keep the pressure up. Only for a few seconds. Trouble was I forget to turn it off and sometimes in the wee small hours it would fire into life. Not becuase of that I fitted a quick release fitting so I could disconnect the airbrush if I needed to swap it for my second one.
Added bonus is the compressor never loses pressure. Obviously the quick release connector is a better seal than the thread. I still forget to turn it off but now no one knows
