    Just wondering.

Do you other guys put the airbrush cleaning pot in the spray booth when blowing cleaner through the airbrush? I have always done it as the tiny filter in the pot does not do a lot as far as I can see.

Funnily enough I did it for the first time tonight and I think it helped. The filter just catches particulates and prevents splashes so won't really do much with the finer stuff that causes odours.

To be honest I've hardly used my pot since I got it, I usually just aim the airbrush towards my extractor when blowing through, but I'm trying to get into good habits and control the fumes as much as possible in case I end up moving my modelling into the house.

I do andy , but my cleaning pot is an old cocktail shaker with a hole drilled in it and a piece of sponge shoved in the holes in the top so it catches the spray but the fumes come out the top like billy O ! I imagine the purpose made ones do a similar thing

Definitely use the pot in the spraybooth as the modelling room is also a guest bedroom, I find it reduces fumes and odours to manageable levels plus no possibility of dusty oversupply.

Yes. Have done ever since I got an AB. I have one of those specialist pots rather than a homemade one.

I AB in the kitchen so wouldn't dream of not using it.

That's a good idea. I have not done it but noticed the little filter on the pot is pretty useless. Daft as it seems I've not thought of putting the pot in the spray booth but will do from now on.

I do put it in there, it clearly helps because when I spray through the airbrush, I see the wisps coming out of the top of the pot bend towards the extractor.

Mine used to go straight into the sink. Cough cough!

I don't have to spray any cleaners now though as I use an ultrasonic cleaner.

30 seconds to wipe the inside of the paint bowl and take out the nozzle and needle, everything into the cleaner with water and a squirt of handsoap for three minutes, then 30 seconds to reassemble the brush and wipe the outside to stop drops of water running onto the next paint job. You shouldn't really need to ask how I learned to do that!

I don't, but I spray in the garage. I tend to tip any leftover paint into a slop jar, then fill the a/b cup with water and tip that into the jar a few times before using the proper airbrush cleaning pot.
