Hi all a lesson for you I had a brainwave tonight I normally put all the bits to my airbrush in my ultrasound cleaner to clean it but today I thought I would give it a birthday and give it a thorough clean, so I put white spirit in the ultrasound cleaner when I took all the bits out it had dissolved the seal round the nozzle and having checked the Internet a replacement nozzle (you can't just get the seal) is half the cost of a new airbrush(its only a cheap airbrush) and I figure if it's dissolved the seal round the nozzle who knows what else its damaged so will be buying a new one.
Oops I need a new airbrush

An expensive Sunday KP !
Only tried an ultrasound cleaner once for the cleaning of an airbrush. Not impressed. Imagine same goes for you now.

One of my "daily" airbrushes has not had a seal on the nozzle for the last couple of years. Dont worry about it to much.
White spirit is pretty soft and not a hot solvent so I would say that the airbrush has not gone into melt down.Comment

Thanks Ian will try it without the seal (no loss if it don't work as I figured it was gone anyway) .Laurie I have used ultrasound for ages I have only had a problem since I stupidly used white spirit so I will probably still use it, horses for courses.Comment

I have the same issue on mine-no seal on the nozzle-works just fine. The ultrasonic cleaners work okay-upto a point then you really do have to clean via hand and small brushes-but for external grud etc they are an easy way to get the main muck off.
