    Brush painting , burnt wood

    How can I paint this to make it look like burnt wood?

    Erm... Burn it. lol

    Do you have a heat gun for removing paint.... Might be a good idea to get it away from the plastic first though....Ask me how I know.

      I was going to do that but I've stuck it pretty well to the walls and it's pretty flimsy plastic so it will break

      I can't use a lighter or match either because of the splinter affect I got when I broke the wood so painting is my only option I'm afraid

        Paint it with a patchy light and dark brown, then apply a heavy matt black wash, when this is still wet sprinkle bicarb on the areas you want to look charred. When this is all dry use a thin black wash to soak into the bicarb to give an ash effect.

        Have a look at my 'crash' SIG diorama to see the effect in situ.
