    Airfix 1/72 Lancaster

I'm ashamed to say that through my long absence from modelling, I've forgottem some of what I knew. Can someone please tell me the Tamiya colour equivalent to the Humbrol 78 Acrylic paint?

In the ultimate paint conversion guide it's showing as XF22 but that looks a little too grey, especialy when I look at images of cockpits that some of you modellers have posted. Cockpit Green!

Any info will be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks

Look on here Aidan and it tells you the colour for which hardly any of the paint people provide for..

I use Model Air 71010 which according to 3 conversion things I use all quote Tamiya XF22. I suspect that the Tamiya colour cards do not represent the trus colour. Humbrol is designated as tank grey on their colour chart.

One thing which also confuses is that your monitor may not be showing true colours. If it is you are probably one in a thousand unless it has been calibrated which most monitors unless top end cannot be.

Many thanks Laurie. I have a pot of XF22 = it's grey. I would noty have worried but there are images from other modellers on this site and their cockpits are green. I've ordered some Humbrol 78.

Many thanks John. I've cancelled the order for the Humbrol paint. As you'll see I've ordered the Tamiya paint from you, along with a couple of other bits.
