    Does anyone speak Japanese?

    Hi,

It's quite a while since I last posted busy gluing spraying and new camera, now need a new computer old one getting cranky when trying move photos about. Anyway one of my projects was a post war Australian

Beaufighter target tug Tamiya kit went together well along with the Red Rue conversion kit,I had read an article on metal foiling and decided to have a go easier then I expected thence to painting and that's when it all went wrong removed the masking along with lots of paint Purisol has been bought the paint is coming off at some time in the future, the diagonal stripes where not good anyway. Used Vallejo grey primer and it didn't take. Had a word with one of the painter chaps at work and he says instead of using soap and water and isopropol alcohol to clean up the kitchen foil I should have used GUN WASH [panic ]and then washed that off with isopropol. Anyway I intend to use Mr Metal primmer next time around does any one have any experience of this gear. My painter pal say it is acetone based and is safe with PTFE 'o' rings in an air brush bit dodgy on plastic though.

    Cheers Sharow John.

Just had an Email from Bob at Model Design and Construction (MDC) he says spray or brush application are both fine, use Mr Colour or Tamiya X20 for thinning and it does not adversely affect plastic and for cleaning use isopropyl alcohol, looks like the practice plastic bottle is going to get a band of foil as well to try and avoid a disaster like the Chocktaw.

    Cheers Sharowjohn.
