    Colour match help please

    Me again lol

    Satin green humbrol 131

    Signal red humbrol 174

    For my lynx hma8 build Royal Navy colours if this helps

    I'm looking for the equivalent in Tamiya or life colour .

    I've tried various colour conversion sites and no joy.

    Would xf 07 tamiya for signal red be acceptable once toned down with a satin sheen?

    Or

    Lc12 dark green with a satin coat?

    Any thoughts appreciated

    According to my andriod app

    131 = Mid Green Satin with no match

    174 = Signal red Satin = Velejo Model Air Ferrarri Red 71.085

    From The Vellejo Chart

    131 = 70.968 + 70.522

    174 = 70.909 + 70.522

    So, I assume its a matt colour plus a satin varnish on top

    Hope that helps

      Thanks for that , you did better than me .

      I was hoping to go with Tamiya or life colour due to the fact I can get them localy.

      The postage charges are a nightmare but if needs must. At least I have the alternative as well.

      Cheers

        These are not easy colours to convert. The best I can come up with for you is that Humbrol 131 'Mid Green Satin' could be related to Humbrol 101 'Mid Green Matt' which would equate to something like Tamiya XF05 (Tamiya use XF05 as a substitute for a lot of green shades however). Humbrol 174 Signal Red has no direct equivalent in either Tamiya nor the Life Colour ranges. XF07 Red with a satin coat may well be as close as you can get without going to another brand or getting the Humbrol paint itself.

              For which component of the Lynx are the colours for Daz ?

              And what theatre is the Lynx being portrayed in ?

                Just add Daz that for the future try this. http://www.humbrol.com/converthumbrol

                Humbrol conversion for an umber of paints. Problem is that not all colours are convertible. Which is the hub of the problem. Airfix use Humbrol and the nearest paint to the ones they produce.

                What scale Lynx are you on ?

                  www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/73386-westland-lynx-naval-versions/

                  Great link loads of pics

                  The green can be seen on both port and starboard side. Maybe floatation devices.

                  The red covers a multitude of areas and parts. I'd have assumed a very common colour used on many British milatry aircraft ect

                  I'm doing the folded tail version and collapsed rotors.

                  Ps 1:48

                    Hi Richie,

                    Yep same link I've used before , I think you need to put the name in sometimes or number and keep cross referencing other manufacturers until your lucy lol

                    The lead I got above helped me track down the red .

                    Cheers

                      Yep you are right with the cross referencing, but i think it is the most complete reference out there, at least I couldn't find another or similar.
