    Washes

    Hi Chaps and Chapesses

Quick question regarding washes, currently building a 1/48 B-17G the natural metal version. Now I want it to look weathered in as much not as if it had just left the factory. Any ideas on a colur wash that would tone it down but not detract from the fact that it is a nice silver coloured aircraft?

    Many thanks

From someone that don't build flying things, how about a mid gray?

    Have fun, John

I have heard that Paynes Grey oil paint is a good wash colour for NMF aircraft. I would also think that a rather matt surface would be more passable. Aluminium if I recall starts shinny, then goes matt, then starts going grey/white.

Cheers Chaps, will give it a look, I will have a look in Hobbycraft tomorrow and see if I can pick up a suitable suggested colour!
