    Paint effects

ok, have finally decided to build my WRC mini clubman, not going to take any notice of the box colours, as i see this as a model im not to fussed about, and the perfect chance to try some simplistic artistic licence with the painting....... So what im hoping is to get some suggestions/guidence on a few simple ways to experiment with different colour paint effects using basic acyllic paints with an air brush (not rusting or wrecking)... Will probably buy a few more to keep building up my collection, really just trying to improve my all round painting skills, and thinking about dirty'ing it up at the end.

I have a 1/35 scale quad with tinder and 25pounder , when I did that I used old washing up sponge a thinned down sand acrylic and added some crushed salt ( couse to this and dabbed on the model, it took a while to get the desired effect but it looks pretty good and realistic, you could add some grass effect to this also if added to mix

It's an old way of dirtying up but may work??
