    Decal Silvering Please Help!!

    Hi all,

I'm currently doing my Italeri A-10A, I'm in the stage of decaling now, I gloss coat the whole thing with Tamiya Spray Can Gloss (TS-13), I even use Microset and Microsol, why it keeps not conforming perfectly to the kit?? Am doing something wrong, something I missed, or it's the decal that too old? Any suggestion ate greatly appreciated. Thanks all

Leo when you first put the decal down before you use Micro sol do you use a wet cotton bud to roll over the decal to squeeze all the air and water from under it ?

Hi Leo, quick question mate, do you use warm water when you soak the decal? Also put some of the blue microset in the water, not a lot just a couple of drops both of these wil make the decals soften and should help them conform to the model. Not hot water just warm.

Take more care than normal as they will be more fragile.

      Good luck

      Martin.

Maybe that's why, I only use regular tap water. I'll try the warm water then. Thanks lads!!

Some decals are just awful and will not react to any normal decal softeners. I don't know about the kit decals you are struggling with, but on occasion I've chucked the kit decals and invested in some after market ones.

          Cheers
