    Revel Aqua Color question...

Hi all I have had a look at some threads and it seems revel Aqua Color goes through a airbrush with a little thinner and/or distilled water. Can I spray over over paints such as Vallejo model air with no problems and if so will I be able to seal with Vallejo model air matt seal finish also?

      Not a problem Phil.

Revell Acrylics, Humbrol Acrylics, Vallejo Acrylics, Lifecolor Mig acrylics are OK. They are all water based.

I have used Vallejo Thinners with all the above. If you are using varnish from any of the above really give your airbrush a deep clean as they are lethal at clogging.

Aquacolor needs a lot of thinning. Best to experiment. Not like Lifecolor Vallejo Model Air and Mig acrylics which are made for airbrushing although a lot, as I do, still thin these a bit.

Best to use a thinner not water as it mixes better and manufacturers produce the thinners to compliment their paints.

I use Revell Aqua a lot you can mix it with water but I find it best to mix it with the Revell colour mix, by using this it gives you more working time with the paint than if you just use water. Yes you can cover any other type of paint with Revell aqua no problem, at least I've never had any problems whilst using it. Yes you can use Vallejo matt varnish to seal the paint, this is also what I use because the varnish can also be thinned with water.

Yep, as the guys have said, I use Aqua colour, AB it and brush it. Scott using Revell colour mix is a good suggestion, I use this and no issues.
