    Sequence?!?!

    Hello all,

I'm currently building a Gripen and is this the correct sequence:
    1. Prime (optional)
    2. Pre-shade (optional)
    3. Base paint job
    4. Gloss coat
    5. Decals
    6. Flat coat
    7. Weathering
    8. Flat coat

If I put 3 coats, is it gonna be too "thick" after layers and layers of paint+coats?

Please correct me if I'm wrong or any other thoughts maybe? Thanks peeps

I do a gloss coat over the decals as this can avoid the silvering from the carrier film. I would consider a satin coat on aircraft as they tend to be more satin than totally flat.

On armour, I still gloss over the decals but then I use oil filters and weathering which knocks back the shine.

Are you airbrushing or hairybrushing? If you are airbrushing and thinning your paint as recommended, you should have no issues losing detail just don't flood it.

Thinning is just as, if not more so, with hairy brush but I am not qualified in using the hairy brush so I will leave real advice to others for that.
