hi marc. traditionally its a gold basecoat under a transparent red for candy apple , but theres no rule saying you cant use silver. in fact ive experimented with several different candy effects and silver suits other colours better in my opinion (ie blues and greens) cheers tony

Hi Tony, what I'm trying for is a candy red that has very little undertone colour and that is why the metallic silver. Like you years ago I did play around with candy colours and green with under gold is a great colour

Come on then mark , dont keep us in suspense!! Whats the candy apple paint job for ? I like to think its a slammed , chopped yank motor , something like a 59 impala or better still something from the late forties , a proper lead sled!!
