    Halfords white primer

I have been using Halfords primer for a couple of years now but have mixed feelings about the white! The grey goes on lovely but at times the white goes on very rough leaving a chalky, sandpaper like finish. I have been playing around with it on a scrap model and I have found 2 things that sort the problem! 1 it needs to be shaken a hell of a lot more than most primer/paints and 2 I stand it in a bucket of cold water for 20 minutes! It then goes on as flat as Tamiya primer. The main out of the 2 though is it needs to be cooled down first ;-)

Interesting solutions Mark, I too have noticed that the white sometimes takes on a more rougher appearance than say the red or grey.

Exactly Si. I couldn't work it out but try putting it in the fridge for 15 minutes and shake the hell out of it and hey presto a lovely smooth coat
