This is a bit of a weird one but are the metallic flakes in a Tamiya spray smaller that a normal aerosol metallic spray paint?
Metallic flake size?

Oki doki. For my very limited model car painting I can only at very little.
Car colour rattle cans can turn out looking more like metal flake paint than metallic. If you are going for a custom car type finish can be ok.
Now I did find something rather good. Vallejo sell a metalizer...you can mix it in with any of their acrylic model color series paints. The metallic particles are very fine and can be sprayed with an airbrush. You can add as much or as little as you like thus getting the effect you are after. The other bonus us that you can mix it into any colour you like, So you're not bound by only being able to get certain colours..You can even mix it into clear varnish to good effect. Buy a bottle and have a play.Comment
