Tamiya Flat Clear in spraycan and decals?

    Hi all,

In my quest for a matt finish to replace Testors MM Dulcote (Which I can't get in SA any more), I've seen that Tamiya has a Flat Clear in a spray can. But on the lid it warns :"Do not use over decals".

Has anybody had any experience with using this product? What does it do to decals?

If I use Tamiya TS13 Gloss clear to seal the decals, then apply the Tamiya Flat Clear over it, would that prevent whatever damage to the decals Tamiya is warning of?

    Thanks!

PS: Please, for the sake of my sanity, please don't tell me to use Vallejo, or any other brand! We can only get Tamiya and Humbrol here in South Africa!

I made the same mistake when I was making my RAF Buccaneer, the fix you mention is O.K., that's what I did but with a different varnish, so you will be O.K. Moral of the story is don't use Tamiya aerosol. I normally use Humbrol aerosol varnishes but ran out at the time. Cheers Derek
