    Tamiya X-21 Flat Base

Needed some matt white but could only get X-2 white.
How much X-21 should i add to a full 10ml jar of X-2 to make it matt?
I know if too much is used you end up with a 'milky' finish
    TIA

I think there used to be guidelines in Tamiya’s catalogs. This Reddit post quotes a (now removed) Tamiya USA page that says to begin with a 10:1 ratio of paint to Flat Base, and then add more Flat Base if it’s not matt enough.

Just a thought Tom. Would it be best to only add the 10% X-21 to ensure you don't get a milky finish and if the result was not matt enough simply to overcoat with a matt varnish. Another thought is that any milkiness would not tend to show with white paint anyway.

          I hear you Jim,
The amount to add was also meant 'for future reference' as it were.
Varnish? I don't know if it's me but matt varnish hardly ever seems to finish off matt for me so was wondering how to assist the process along (although the 'mattness' of varnish is all about the last coat).
