    Who uses a spray booth

    Hi all, my day has gone from silly to disaster, thought I'd do a little spray and clean afterwards only for my new spray booth, bought from Amazon at a cheap price I now know why, I thought it was an expo ab500, as per listing, but I think it was a Chinese copy, for a couple of base hinges to break then I as tried to see what had happened the whole spray area platform broke away leaving me with a handful of broken bits of plastic.
    I'm not a happy man, anyone recommend a good replacement one that does need sticky tape, a lot of it. :anguished: :tears-of-joy:

    Sorry to hear about that, cant you get a replacement from Amazon as not fit for purpose or cancel your payment.

        Hi guys, as you might have read in the latest acquisitions thread (now merged into this post, Admin). my Spray booth fell apart, I'd like to know who uses a portable spray booth for airbrushing and who doesnt, want to see if I'll get a new one, if you dont how do you manage without one. All help appreciated.

          Hi there, I bought this off eBay. Cheap at £54 when I got it but reasonably solid and compact when folded away, plus lots of spare parts available. If you want to know more PM me as I have lots of pictures of the set up.

                I've a similar one, ok they all are plastic sided, but seems ok.I have mine set up permanently. Send John an email and ask what they are like, he won't sell crap anyway .

                      I also have one of these and it works fine. The side screen panels are moulded as one piece so none of those hinges to snap off

                      I got mine as a replacement for a genuine Expo AB500 on which all the hinges had disintegrated

                        Hi Mark,
                        I made one with MDF and an old kitchen hood. It's really strong and durable if you have the time for a project like that.

                        I found some old pictures of the construction;

                        I've build it in summer 2016, and it still works great, very pleased with it.

                        Hopefully you find or make a good one :thumb2:

                        Cheers, Steven

                          I’ve got one of those (note that the hose attaches to the back and not the top, as the photo makes it look like it does), and I’m happy enough with it — though I replaced the aluminium foil hose with a plastic one for a tumble dryer that I bought in a hardware store, because IMHO the aluminium is too flimsy and in any case I had a devil of a time getting it to fit onto the spray booth’s exhaust pipe and the window nozzle that came with it.

                            I have one of these from here https://bartsharpairbrush.co.uk/prod...it-led-lights/.

                            I think this is the upgraded version of the one John sells. It does fold up but the plastic & hinges seem sturdy enough. I went with this one because the lights seemed better, and they are indeed very bright.

                              I have a Sparmax SB-88 i bought from a arts supplier here in Belgium, it was around €150.
                              I have been very happy with it and it works well. Only niggle is there is no in built illumination, but as the top is translucent i find a desk lamp above it does the trick when needed.
