    Varnish Question

Hi all, need to put decals onto a tank, now they only need to go on the front of it, now I know to put gloss on first then decal, is it safe to gloss then decal then a Matt varnish or is there a better way to go about it. Paint and varnish used is Vallejo. Cracked how to use them.

If you are not doing anything to the model once the decals are on then there is no need to add another layer of varnish. If however you are going to do more weathering with thinners, pigment fixers etc then you must protect the decal with a covering of varnish, possibly two coats to be on the safe side. Whether you use Matt or Gloss as a final protection layer is personal choice. I use Matt myself.

Will be weathering after, you've confirmed what I was thinking, thanks.
