    Burgundy red or there abouts.

Been trying to find a nice rich plain gloss Burgundy red paint. sort of LNER if you remember that.
DONT just say auto paint rattle cans. Just about every place I have looked at just has the freakin code number and no mention of what it is...
So those that are in the auto spraying trade. Any clues for a nice rich burgundy red.

Tamiya LP-18 might suit, tough could lean to the brown side a bit much.
VMC 70.946 is pretty close to their Burgundy textile paint.

Jaguar has Regency red which is rather nice. Inspector Morses MkII Jag (the darker of the two that is).

This is British Laylend Damask Red. Quite a common colour in the 70's / 80's.

Try railway modelling suppliers. Look for LMS red or MR crimson lake (not LNER, they were green ). Somebody like Phoenix precision paints should be able to help. Good tip though, use a red oxide primer under it. Reds are transparent and if you use grey as a primer the top coat turns purple……I know this from experience:flushed:
